a little change . . .

Jodie cut bangs for me today . . . I needed a change. I like them:)

St. George Vacation

With the start date of school looming overhead

Kai felt the need for one last hoorah. We didn't look much farther than our backyard and decided to stay in St. George.

I would not recommend our hotel.

However, it was so fun to be in St. George and frolic the day away. I would love to live there. When Kai and I were leaving Hawaii I told him that I just wanted to live somewhere that had a temple and an airport within an hours drive.

Well, St. George does:) Not that we ever will live there.

But a girl can dream of something beyond Mesquite,

even if it is no farther than her backyard.

We went to the splash park in the middle of town, the Washington Rec center, a few stores and the kids went to their very first buffet at the Golden Corral. When they realized there was a "help yourself" snack bar, they were in heaven. So was Kai, I think he had 8 plates of food. I don't know how he stays so thin.
When we were eating inside, Cambria said to me, "Mom, I didn't expect it to look so nice in here. Because of the name, I thought we'd be eating next to horses or something."

Kiera kissing the frog prince

I am not in any pictures except this one . . . I had to have proof that I was there.

Look at the look that boy is giving Cambria . . .

This was so fun!

My Friend Jenny and Beach Bon Fire

Life for me at college was wonderful. Life for me in Hawaii was wonderful. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. A lot of those good times had to do with the little lady in this photo. Well, not the little lady, but the little lady's mama.

My friend Jenny. She was my roommate, my best buddy and partner in crime. Now she is a mama of twoand wife to one and still lives in California. I was so happy to visit with her and swim with her in this awesome pool.

This is her other cute little girl.

This is Kai in action, dunking Raia . . .

Here she is spitting out the water . . .

A slide, a diving board, a super deep end and a shallow end? Sign me up for a giant pool like this. I know we have enough room in our backyard!

Are you in there?

We also visited the Children's Museum and the kids got their faces painted.

Bon Fire at Huntington Beach

Growing up in California the beach was always a favorite get-away. Even more fun than frolicing in the waves all day was watching the sun dipdown into the ocean and continue the fun into the night. Roasting marshmallows was always fun to do with friends. I love being able to do it now with my kids.Growing up in California the beach was always a favorite get-away. Bubba went missing

Has your heart ever stop beating in your chest? Mine did. For a moment Bubba was lost. He had been with my mom and had wondered off. The beach was crawling with people and I watch a lot of police shows so I always assume the worst.

To make matters worse. I had been walking from the water back to the fire pit with my neice Lexi, and now all of a sudden she disppeared too. I caouldn't figure out how that had happened since we were so close to the fire pit.

It turns out that Lexi "felt" like the Holy Ghost was prompting her to veer away from our fire pit and walk towards the neighboring fire pit. As she got closer she said she saw Bubba running around in circles crying. She realized he was lost. She wondered if she should go back to get me, but realized that if she did Bubba might wander even farther away. So Lexi decided that she would go get Bubba because it was better that they were both lost together rather than on their own.

We spotted their silhouettes two fire pits down and Cambria ran to get them. It was such a scary moment, but Lexi felt like the Holy Ghost was leading her to save Bubba and I have to tell you that I agree becasue I don't know how far Bubba would have wondered down the beach if Lexi hadn't of headed off to the next fire pit to get him. I feel so thankful to Lexi. I lay in bed that night thinking about how horrible it would have been to lose my little boy. What if Lexi had ignored the prompting to walk to the other fire pit? Those are the thoughts that can torture a mother's heart late at night. But luckily she listened to the still small voice inside of her. What a blessing.

Later, Lexi and Bubba were playing a short distance from the fire pit in the sand. But as I recently found out, you can still get lost when you are only a short distnace from "camp."
I warned Bubba not to leave the spot he was at and to turn around to see what our beach fire looked like. He said "Mom, it's okay! I'm with Lexi. She has the holy ghost!"

I just love taking Pictures . . .

Jodie is not only my hairstylist, she is one of my closest friends. We moved to Mesquite about the same time and all of our kids are about the same age. We are extremely similar and though we don't spend every moment together, we manage our friendship just fine.
She called me yesterday and told me that today would be her anniversary and could I please do a 15 minute photo shoot of her and Darrin. Of course I said yes.

She said she knew I would because, she was in control of my hair and since I have an appointment coming up, it would be best to please the hairstylist.

I think they turned out pretty dang good for a 15 minute effort:)

I Love Me a Good Necklace!

My body and I
have taken quite a journey together. We have been every size from 5 to pregnant. I love fashion, though it might not be evident anymore:) While not every cute shirt or pair of jeans that made my heart go pitter patter always fit, a gorgeous pair of heels or sparkly necklace always satiated my craving for fashion. They were always one size fits all:)

My friend Angela, from The Sparkle Spot, sells jewelry. I have often bought from her (or traded at one of our boutiques). Then I saw on her blog that she was going to start selling jewelry from Paparazzi. Guess what each piece is only $5.00. Say what?! How could all this cute stuff be only $5.00? You can't even make a necklace for $5.00! I have no idea how this Hurricane, UT based Company does it, but I knew I was going to be her best customer.

Then I had a thought. I could join her team. I could buy jewelry for myself and also sell it along side my headbands. The light bulb went on! Win- Win.

So, at the present, I have two necklaces for sale. . . $5.00 plus tax . . . a whoppin' $5.38 for all this cuteness.
Let me know if you want one.
Comment or email: amykaidavis12@yahoo.com or call if you know the number. Most of you do:)

Buy each necklace for a grand total of $5.38 Each! (tax included!)
Can you believe that price?!

Christmas is coming . . . just a reminder:
Oh, and if you want a larger variety to choose from,
Angela is having an Open House Thursday And Friday.
Thursday August 25th 4-8 pm
Friday August 26th 10-2pm
Email me for details. I don't want to just post her address on the web:)

Back to School Blues . . .

I got an automated call today saying that one of my daughters immunizations were not up to date. This seemed odd to me since they wouldn't let her attend kindergarten without having had all her shots. I thought to myself, "Did they add more immunizations?"

I called the school to find out what immunization was not up to date.

The answer:

She was 4 days to young when she got her HEP B shot.

Are you kidding me?

I wasn't mad at the office ladies.

It isn't their fault.

This came from the state via the school district.

I called my pediatrician to ask her if four days really made a difference.

She said 4 days difference makes no difference at all.

There is no way I am going to give Kiera another HEP B shot to ease the mind of the state when my pediatrician says it is perfectly fine . . .

I have to wait until Thursday to see what the school nurse says . . . this is so dumb.

The Torturer! You Can't Ever Run Far Enough

There is no place safe or sacred enough that you can escape the clutches of "The Torturer." Neither your mother's arms or hallowed ground will offer you protection from him . . .

but before I get into that, these are just a few of the cute faces you can see toddling around my mama's house . . .
little Aarilyn
Little Raia and Big Red

While we were in Cali we celebrated my Dad's birthday again, but this time at my Grandma's house. The food was good and the company was great and the entertainment fantastic!

Raia fell in love with this toy that belongs to Benjamin . . .

Malachi fell in love with the presents that Uncle Sean got for Papa . . .(nerf guns and such) Is that not the cutest face?!

Dundle the dog was almost on his best behavior . . .

And the torturer was in rare form. Uncle Kim used to chase us around when we were little and now he attacks our children. Malachi is scared to death of him because he sees how his sisters are treated.

The battles are serious . . . you have no idea . . .

My kids are not picky when it comes to hanging out with other kids . . . if you wanna play they are ready to be your best buddy. They had so much fun with all the kids at the party!

If she had any tonsils, I think you'd be able to see them . . .

My Grandma has a little quote in her kitchen that says

"Grandma is the next best thing to Santa"

and I totally Agree.
