Cycles of a Black Eye and More

My poor little son. He and another little boy ran head first into each other while playing in the school cafeteria. Malachi got the worst of it. This is what it looked like an when it happened:

Three hours later:

The next morning:

When he would talk to us he would look all the way up so he could see us out of the little slit in his eye. At one point he couldn't even open his eye.

Later that night (day two):

Day three: The swelling went down, but the color is really intense.

Raia has taken good care of him:)

Cambria has been a great help in the kitchen. She is my onion cutter, hence the eye wear.

We are excited to check our garden every day for tasty little morsels like this:

We had a wonderful Father's Day

And we have a wonderful father in our home! And we were raised by wonderful fathers. :Life is good.

In other news:

I was watching a nutritionist on TV and he said that onions and mushrooms cause fat to atrophy and shrink away. So, I have a feeling that bad breath is on the horizon.

Ian Davis Wedding

Ian and Little Owl were married on Sunday. It was 98 degrees and thankfully no more. The back yard wedding was simple and elegant. The ceremony short and sweet. The bride and groom were beautiful as well as the wedding party and the food was delectable!

Lo's Dad sang two traditional, tribal chants to her and Ian. It was really cool to hear and see this part of their heritage come to life.

Summer is in full swing . . . we are anxiously awaiting our pool.

We have been enjoying the fruits (or in this case, the vegetables) of our labor from our garden, we love zucchini squash! We also planted broccoli, green beans and watermelon

And Finally you just have to clap your hands together in a boisterous round of applause and declare it to be the best day ever. Especially when your mom gives you an otter pop to chew on to sooth your teeth that are trying to poke through and you are lucky enough to poke a whole in it with said tooth.

The End . . . Happy Summer!
