With excitement and a small amount of trepidation, Christopher's plucked away links from his paper chain countdown to the wedding, made by yours truly!
(by the way, there are a few pictures you haven't seen yet!)
What is the one thing that makes the world go 'round? Love.
What makes waking up in the morning worth while? Love.
What makes your heart pitter patter and your palms sweat? Love.
What makes you stay together when wrinkles start to form and the body starts morphing into a less attractive state? Love.
How long does it take?
mean how long does it really take to know that a person is "the one?"
For some it is a slow process and one day it dawns on them that the friend they thought was just a friend is really the one they are meant to grow old and grey with. For others it can be instantaneous. After the first or second date, they just know. Is there a right way or a better way? No. Love is love no matter how you slice it. Falling in love and committing to one another takes a leap of faith. It means taking a chance. It means that you choose the one you love and then every day after, through the good and the bad, you decide to love the one you chose. Chris and Sarah chose each other. They didn't know each other for very long and yes, they got married extremely fast, but hey at the end of your life wouldn't you give anything to spend one more day with your true love?
Sometimes life moves fast and Chris and Sarah couldn't be more perfect for each other. There are many critics who have questioned Sarah's sanity. "You're so young, don't you want to date more? Or see the world?" I can't say anything about the dating part (Chris says sometimes it only takes once to find perfection) but as for the seeing the world part, I think Chris is giving her the world. Sarah was going to go school in St. George, Utah. Not very far from home. Now she is going to live in Hawaii, which is almost like visiting another country before you get used to it. I think they are going to have a lovely start to a wonderful life. St. George Temple
It was a beautiful August morning. And though it was hot is was no where near the blazing temperatures it could have been. It was just barely over 100 degrees.

Just to clarify a few misconceptions, below is a picture of my son not Chris'.

Ryan made it his goal to get in as many "Petersen" family pictures as possible. He hid behind them and jumped up like a jack-in-the-box at just the right moment. We just love the whole Petersen family and coudn't be more thrilled to have Sarah join our family.

These brothers really love each other . . . notice the hand holding!

Right smack dab in the middle of the wedding and the reception we blessed Baby Raia. We were happy that Chris and Sarah didn't feel like we were stealing their thunder. We were trying to take advantage of all the family that was in town. Raia is wearing the same gown that my two other daughters wore on their blessing day. It was hand made by my Aunt Lisa. The headpiece is new also made by aunt Lisa. I am going to try to do some more professional pictures of Raia in this dress a little later.

Bubba's head looks alittle scary in this picture and Sarah is missing but I had to put it up anyway!

Sweet little Kiera! We hardly saw her at all during the reception. She was running around with all the other kids. That was always my favorite part of weddings when I was a kid too!

Don't love this picture of me (gotta lose that pregnancy weight!), but I love the sentiment.
